In 1992 the Airman & Family Readiness Center and AAFES recognized the need to support military children at F. E. Warren during the holidays. They instituted the "Angel Tree Program" with the theme military-taking-care-of-military.

Air Force Global Strike Command' first sergeant's council here at F. E. Warren now runs this program with the theme Adopt-A-Family. This is just one of many ways first sergeants take care of Warren's Airmen. The program is entirely anonymous and its purpose is to assist Warren families who are in need during the holidays as well as those families with a parent currently deployed.

Approximately 96 Warren families and 187 children have been identified this year to receive help and donations, but this cannot be done without the help of the base personnel. Please stop by the Exchange, pick a name off the tree, buy a present and make a child a little happier this Christmas.

The "Angel" Christmas tree will be located in front of the Exchange entrance from Nov. 20 until Dec. 13. Anyone can donate or buy items for the angel tree. Information such as children's ages, gender, clothing sizes and special gift requests are provided on the tree to make shopping easier. Donating individuals can take more than one angel off the tree if they wish and we ask that all gifts be unwrapped. Donated gifts can be left in the box located next to the Angel tree or turned at the A&FRC. The gift items and donations will then be given to the identified Warren families at the end of the campaign before Christmas.
