Living Arrangements

F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., offers a variety of housing choices: dormitories, on-base housing, and off-base housing.

Dormitories

Dormitories are provided for unaccompanied Airmen between the ranks of E-1 to E-4 with less than three years of service. Unaccompanied Airmen outside these categories will move into off-base housing. Visit the "Off-base Housing" tab for more information.

F.E. Warren is equipped with 12 dormitories with a total of 663 rooms. Each dormitory provides Airman with a private sleeping room equipped with furnishings, bed linens and supplies required for comfortable living. Room arrangements vary depending on the dorm.

Five dormitories have a Dorms-4-Airmen style layout, where each resident has a private bed and bathroom, but share a common area with a kitchen, a living room with cable television, washer, and dryer with three other Airmen. The six dormitories have a one plus one layout, where each resident has a private bedroom but share a bathroom and a kitchen with one other Airman.   One dorm is in the two plus two format where each resident has their own bedroom but shares a bathroom with one other resident with a common area kitchen and laundry on the first floor.

All dormitories have the same restrictions: No pets, except for fish, are allowed. There is no smoking, vaping, or any type of tobacco use inside any dorm, no overnight guests allowed, no knives over three inches long, and all firearms must be stored in the Security Forces Armory.  Archery equipment, paintball and air-soft guns are prohibited and cannot be stored in the dormitories.

On-base, privatized housing
At F.E. Warren, the base family housing is privatized. Balfour Beatty Communities owns the housing on base and is responsible for the communities. To apply for on-base housing, contact the housing management office at (307)-773-1840 as soon as you know you are moving to F.E. Warren. The Housing Management Office will provide you with the latest information and details about the application process.

On-base housing is comparable to the off-base housing in the local area. Communities feature amenities such as dog parks, community centers and playgrounds.

Similar to living off-base, on-base housing requires you to sign a one-year tenant lease agreement which includes a military clause and a lease termination clause. You pay rent by authorizing pay to be directly taken from your allotted housing allowance. Rent will include all utility costs, up to you maximum BAH. For BAH rates, visit http://www.dodhousingnetwork.com/air-force/fe-warren-afb/bahrates.php

The HMO also monitors housing units offered to the military community through the Automated Housing Referral Network. Visit http://www.AHRN.com to create a personal account to view housing in the local community.

Pet living
Only two pets per household are authorized in family housing. Pets must be under control (i.e., leashed or fenced) at all times and must not disturb the peace, become a nuisance or pose a threat to other animals, people or property.

Only fish are allowed in the dormitories.

Traditionally, wild animals and some aggressive canine breeds are not allowed in base housing. Further restrictions are published in the military family housing "We Care" pamphlet.

Base regulations require that all dogs, cats, and horses residing on base must be registered with the Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF) within five days of arrival and annually thereafter. They must meet the specific vaccination requirements for their species and age. To register your pet, please bring their vaccination records to the VTF to be issued a F.E. Warren Tag and registration certificate. The VTF , in Bldg. 288, is on the corner of Frontier Drive and 5th Cavalry Avenue. For more information please call (307)-773-3354.
