Global Strike Commander visits Warren Published Jan. 11, 2011 By 011111 FRANCIS E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The new commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, Lt. Gen. Jim Kowalski, visited here today with Airmen and civilians. While here, General Kowalski was scheduled to walk through workplaces at 20th AF headquarters, 90th Missile Wing headquarters and maintenance facilities. During his short trip, he had the opportunity to encourage Warren men and women to continue their efforts in the strategic deterrence mission. General Kowalski became commander of Air Force Global Strike Command in a ceremony held at Barksdale AFB, La. on Jan. 6. General Kowalski previously served as vice commander of Air Force Global Strike Command since the new command was formally established on Aug. 7, 2009. He has also served as the commander of Air Force Global Strike Command (Provisional) at Bolling AFB, Washington D.C. He has held command positions at the wing, group and squadron levels, in addition to joint and Air Force Pentagon staff assignments.
