Matthew Schwartz, 90th Missile Wing Civil Engineer Squadron, was killed in action Jan.5 in Shir ghazi, Helmand province, Afghanistan, when the vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. "We all mourn the loss of Sergeant Schwartz," said Col. Christopher Coffelt, 90th Missile Wing commander. "Our sincerest condolences go out to his family during this difficult time."
