Airmen from the 90th Communications Squadron and 90th Security Forces Group approach the finish line of the six-mile run, walk or ruck for police week, May 17, 2018, on F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. The Police Week run, walk or ruck was a six-mile course around the northern perimeter of the base. Airmen could either participate or compete for fastest time. To place, their ruck had to weigh at least 35 pounds. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. People all across the United States participate in various events which honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Braydon Williams)
