130916-F-ZZ999-001 1st Lt. Hiram Appleget of the 95th Bomber Squadron, was killed-in-action March 1, 1943, and is buried in the North Africa American Cemetery in Tunisia. Tech. Sgt. Gary Wayland, 90th Force Support Squadron, stumbled upon a footlocker from World War II here in Cheyenne, Wyo., that belonged to this Army Air Corps pilot. Upon extensive research, Wayland contacted Appleget's family members in Minnesota and he plans to return the footlocker and vintage artifacts within the coming months.
