USAFSAM completes visits to ICBM bases
Airmen from the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) arrive at a Missile Alert Facility during a visit to Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, March 6, 2023. The USAFSAM team will conduct a study at the request of Gen. Tom Bussiere, Air Force Global Strike Command commander, and will accomplish their initial visits to the command's three active missile wings this week, where the teams will have full access to the facilities and personnel necessary to conduct their study. Static fire test for Sentinel solid rocket motor
The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center conducted its first full-scale static test fire of the LGM-35A Sentinel stage-one solid rocket motor at the Northrop Grumman test facility in Promontory, Utah, March 2, 2023. The Air Force plans to replace the fielded Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile with the next-generation Sentinel system currently in development.
