The Airman's Attic continues to make positive strides on behalf of Air Force Global Strike Command's Airmen, E-4 and below and their families here at Warren.

As a result of the continued generosity of the F. E. Warren and Cheyenne communities, the Airman's Attic is now permitting military retirees, on a trial basis, to join all ranks the last Saturday of the month for Brown Bag Day. The premise of Brown Bag Day is any individual, active duty or retired, is permitted to take items that are able to fit into a brown bag. Furniture will not be permitted since those items are reserved for our active duty; E-4 and below only.

As outlined in the Operating Instructions, the Airman's Attic has also begun instituting a 100 percent identification card check. Individuals must present a valid military ID upon entering the premises. Guests are welcome to enter the facility; however, they are not permitted to shop for themselves. The Airman's Attic is a facility solely designed to help defray some of the costs when establishing a household for our military families. Any military individual or military dependent found not abiding with the policies of the OI will forfeit their right to use the Airman's Attic for the duration of their assignment here.

To continue to serve patrons in a fair and equitable manner, a limit on the amount of items an individual or family may take during a visit is now in effect. A military individual is permitted a total of 10 items, a military family of 2-4 members is permitted a total of 15 items, and 5 or more family members are permitted 20 total items.

A waiting list has been established for items a patron may be seeking; however, not currently available. The necessary contact information, item and date of request are noted. Once an item has been received at the Airman's Attic, the patron requesting that item is contacted. The patron is given a week to make arrangements to pick that item up. If they do not make contact by that time, the next patron requesting that same item is contacted.

Special consideration will always be taken for our E-4 and below on a needs basis. First sergeants, commanders and individual families should contact the Airman & Family Readiness Center for further information on how to proceed with a needs basis request at 773-3739, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Airman's Attic continues to be run solely by volunteers. Any assistance patrons can provide in keeping the facility neat and organized when shopping, allows volunteers more freedom to assist individuals and families with their questions. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please contact the A&FRC at 773-3739 to leave your name and contact information. An Airman's Attic representative will contact you.

The Airman's Attic continues to be a work in progress and its main goal is serving qualifying patrons with their household needs while assigned at F. E. Warren AFB.
