Recently, members of Air Force Global Strike Command's 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron, and their families, participated in "Squadron Day" at F. E. Warren's own Arts & Crafts Hobby Shop celebrating the wing's 60 consecutive days without a driving under the influence incident.

The Arts & Crafts Hobby Shop staff helped facilitate "Squadron Day" by offering wood safety, basic framing and ceramics courses. The Arts & Crafts Hobby Shop was offering these courses at a third of the normal rate or three-for-the-price-of-one normal class. Snacks were also provided for the participants while they worked on their projects.

After completing the required training, the participants were able to make "challenge coin" holders, picture frames, steins and various other ceramic pieces. All the participants paid for was a small fee for materials.

A majority of the participants chose to do ceramic pieces. While waiting for the ceramic pieces to finish in the oven, members were able to socialize and get to know one another. This time was very helpful for the new members in the squadron and their families to build upon morale in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

"It was a great opportunity for our unit to bond for the day," said Senior Master Sgt. Shawn Swidecki, 90th MSFS first sergeant. "It was also a good venue to introduce them to an on-base activity they had never experienced. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and I even heard some folks talking about making a regular hobby out of it!"
