F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- With the football season underway, Air Force clubs around the world are hosting weekly Football Frenzy events and giving club members an opportunity to win special prizes.
Each week clubs unveil a new code at viewing events so club members can register for a chance to enter the weekly drawing. Weekly prizes include two tickets to any regular-season game or a $100 gift certificate for sports gear.
The club members here recently won big. David Downey, 90th Communications Squadron network administrator, and Marvin Cox, retiree, won tickets to see their favorite teams play this past weekend.
“I’ve been playing for five years, and I think it is a fun program,” Downey said. “I won great seats to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the New Orleans Saints in Kansas City, Missouri. It was a great experience.”
The timeline from winning tickets to game day can be a quick process. Downey said he was notified on Oct. 4 for tickets to the game on Oct. 23.
In order to enter the drawing, club members need to attend a Football Frenzy event to receive a code to enter online.
Downey said the process was really simple compared to the past few years.
“I intend to keep playing throughout the season,” he said. “Since I already won tickets to a game, now I’m hoping to win the gift card.”
Weekly entries are automatically entered into the grand prize drawing. The more weekly submissions, the higher the chances to win. At the end of the season, two winners will win a pair of tickets to Super Bowl 51 in Houston, air fare and hotel accommodations. The drawing for the grand prize will be held Jan. 5, 2017.
The Warren Lanes bowling center hosts weekly events every Sunday all day, and the Trail’s End Event Center hosts their weekly event every Thursday starting at 7 p.m.
Once a month, the Trail’s End hosts a Family Football Frenzy event complete activities for children and of course, football. The next family event will be Oct. 30 from 2-7 p.m.
