F.E. Warren Clinic opens doors to new enrollees

F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Approximately 1,000 military family members and retirees, using Tricare health insurance, residing in the Laramie County area who are currently enrolled at private clinics will be welcomed back to the F.E. Warren Clinic beginning this summer.

Recent changes by the Air Force Medical Service have made it imperative for clinics to operate at full capacity. One of the steps required to achieve this goal is to provide medical care to as many qualifying patients as possible in order to better influence their health outcomes and save taxpayer dollars. Since we have the ability to provide care to additional patients, the clinic is preparing to resume its role as the primary care provider for eligible patients in the local area. Letters announcing this change were mailed last week notifying those who will be reassigned to primary care providers on base.

The F.E. Warren Clinic has a team of highly-trained medical providers, including physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners with a full pharmacy, laboratory and some radiological services.

The F.E. Warren Clinic has also been recognized for excellence in care. It won the 2012 and 2013 Air Force Global Strike Command's Clinic of the Year Awards. The clinic received the highest ratings from civilian agencies, including the National Committee of Quality Assurance and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Eligible patients living within a 30-minute drive of the clinic will get notices assigning them new providers at the F.E. Warren Clinic over the next two months. Those with questions or concerns about the change in primary care service should contact the Tricare Operations and Patient Administration staff at 307-773-3011.
