When executing the no-fail missile mission conducted by the 90th Missile Wing, the ones supporting those in the field can sometimes be overlooked. Yet, one Airman who has consistently gone above and beyond has earned her an Air Force-level award.

Senior Airman Veronica A. Meza, 90th Force Support Squadron ICBM Food Service Specialist, is the recipient of the 2023 Arthur J. Myers Food Service Excellence Award.

She was recognized locally for her accomplishment at a ceremony in the Chapel Annex on F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, June 27, 2023.

“Meza epitomizes the Whole Airman Concept by going above and beyond at work and dedicating time to involvement in the local community,” said Maj. Jennifer Holmstrom, 90 FSS commander. “Meza’s commitment to her craft earned her multiple Chef of the Month Awards while assigned to the Chadwell Dining Facility, plus she is the 90th Force Support Squadron’s Booster Club Vice President and led the 90th Missile Wing’s volleyball team where she secured the Mission Support Group’s Athlete of the Year award.”

Meza has also gone out of her way to help her peers become better at their craft through training.

“Meza helped her peers pursue advanced culinary training, which was imperative to securing the 90 FSS Professional Team of the Year award for 2022,” said Holmstrom.

Meza has been recognized with other awards, such as the 90th Missile Wing 2022 Airman of the Year, and the John L. Hennessy Superior Performer Award, and she earned the Senior Airman Below the Zone, which allowed her to promote to Senior Airman six months earlier than projected.
