Members of F. E. Warren visited the veteran's affairs medical clinic in Cheyenne on Sept. 2.

The visit was part of monthly trips the Top Three sponsors, allowing today's Airmen to spend time with veterans at the medical center.

Throughout the morning, men and women from F. E. Warren had brunch, played cards and shared stories with veterans living at the center.

These visits give Warren's Airmen a chance to connect and interact with the veterans in the local community.

"It's great to be able to meet with these men," said Tech Sgt. Tim Dewitt, 90th Security Support Squadron. "Having the chance to share stories and show our appreciation for their sacrifice."

Visits such as these are a great way to show the respect for the worth and dignity of every Airman, past and present, he added.

The regular visits from Warren Airmen are an added benefit to the veterans.

"The VA provides extraordinary health care for veterans through the many programs we offer," said Andrew Ruben, information technology specialist and public affairs officer with the VA Medical center.

"Laughter is the best medicine sometimes, and structured events like the Top Three [visit] are a great way to facilitate that," he added.

"I'm impressed with what they do," said Mary-Jo Ally a volunteer at the VA clinic. "Taking the time to come out and visit with these veterans."

The visits are a great opportunity for those who are serving to connect with those who have come before, and it's appreciated by the veterans.

"I love them," said Ronald Lanning, a resident at the clinic. "Everyone of them."
