The 90th Missile Wing Intramural Softball season has begun. Teams from across the base, as well as from the 20th Air Force, are playing in a two-month long tournament to find out who is the best-of-the-best.

This week’s first game pitted the 90th Munitions Squadron against the 790th Missile Security Forces Squadron May 31 on one of the ball fields here. The MUNS team took home the victory, 21 to 9, and are currently in the lead with a record of 3 and 0.

Cameron Perkins, 90th MUNS team player, said their key to success thus far has been copious amounts of practice, preparation and getting people in the right positions.

“We give everyone a chance to play what they like to play, then find hidden talent,” he said.

As for the conquered team, Cameron Caldwell, 790 MSFS team member, said the team just did not play well that day and needs to work on fielding.

From now through the end of June, teams will compete in games lasting seven innings.

Games will be held Mondays through Thursdays, with three games held each night. The season is scheduled to conclude in June, with playoffs and the championship game in early July.
