F.E. Warren Airmen have a long history of volunteerism and involvement at Cheyenne Frontier Days, the biggest annual event in Wyoming's capital and touted the world's largest outdoor rodeo.

This year is no different; 90th Security Forces Group Airmen volunteered their time to work for their organizations' booster clubs.

According to Cheyenne Frontier Days Media Relations, Cheyenne's population roughly triples during CFD.

This makes it perfect for fundraising activities, said Airman 1st Class Kaylyn Jones, a 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron defender who spent time selling food items in the CFD Park.

"CFD brings a lot of tourists, and it can bring a lot of money in that way," she said.

Airmen-quality-of life activities get funded from the monies raised during CFD, said Senior Master Sgt. Brian Cain, 90th MSFS operations superintendent and 90th SFG Top 4 president. The booster clubs use the money to fund scholarships and team-building events like the Crow Creek Challenge.

"Airmen come out here and invest their time at CFD, and the dividends of this time are reinvested back into the booster clubs of their respective units," he said.

Approximately 680 Airmen from the 90th SFG worked at CFD. Even more Airmen from other organizations across the 90th Missile Wing volunteer their time as well.
