Veterans fly free
Hire our Heroes and the Armed Forces Foundation, in partnership with Southwest Airlines, offers a program designed to help transitioning veterans fly for free if they have a scheduled job interview. The program is targeted toward all transiting service members who have recently separated from the service within the last year, or plan to separate within the next 90 days, however all veterans are eligible. Holocaust remembrance event
The 90th MW hosts a Holocaust Remembrance event April 29 at 11:30 a.m. in the Fall Hall Community Center. The event will include a light lunch as well as a guest speaker. For more information, call 773-3501 or 773-6060.

Marketing yourself
The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosts a professional development lecture April 30 for officers and senior enlisted who are transitioning or are mentoring a subordinate who is transitioning into civilian life. The lecture is designed to help make the transition as smooth as possible. For more information, call 773-5940.

90th MDG resiliency classes
The 90th Medical Group Mental Health Clinic offers free resiliency classes every month. The following classes and dates are offered in May:
· Stress management and building resiliency class - May 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and May 22 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
· Parenting workshop - three week workshop offered Mondays May 5 through 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Belfour Beatty Life Works house. Call 514-5000 to sign up
· Anger management class - May 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. and May 28 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
· Healthy relationships workshop - 4 week class offered Thursdays May 1 through 29 from 2 to 4 p.m.
· Substance abuse awareness seminar - offered three times a month on an as needed basis. Call for more information

Commander's calls
Col. Tracey Hayes, 90th Missile Wing commander, hosts a series of base all-calls May 6 through 8 in the base theater. The all-calls are mandatory for all military personnel and highly encouraged for all Department of Defense and contract civilians. The all-calls are split by groups, but if you are unable to make your designated date and time, attend one of the other two. Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early and be in your seat before the start time.

Maintenance Group and Medical Group - May 6 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Mission Support Group and Wing Staff Agencies - May 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Operations Group and Security Forces Group - May 8 from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Troops to Teachers briefing
The Education and Training Center hosts a Troops to Teachers informational briefing May 8 from 10 a.m. to noon in room 24. The briefing will be a one-on-one question and answer style briefing to give Airmen information about financial assistance, preparations and programs, requirements and career opportunities for becoming a teacher. National Police Week activities
Memorial 5K
· The Cheyenne community hosts a Wyoming Law Enforcement Memorial 5K May 10. This annual event raises money for the Fallen Officers Memorial. The 5K begins at the corner of 24th street and Capitol, and will end in the Cheyenne Depot. The start of the event is split into two times, 8 a.m. for the run and 8:05 a.m. for the walk. Registration costs $25 leading up to May 10 and $30 the day of the race. For more information, visit www.cheyennepd.org/5k.
Opening Ceremony
· The Cheyenne Community hosts an opening ceremony May 10 on the steps of the State Capitol building for National Police Week. The ceremony will be followed by a parade and marching procession to the Cheyenne Depot for a family static display.
Marksmanship competition
· The 90th Security Forces Group hosts a marksmanship competition at the 90th SFG firing range May 13 in support of National Police Week. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a safety briefing at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 per person. After the briefing, the competition will begin. Late registration will not be allowed. Pre-registration is being accepted, and the competition will be limited to 51 participants. For more information or to register, call 773-3104 or 773-3560.
Golf tournament
· The Warren Golf Course hosts a four-person scramble golf tournament May 15 in support of National Police Week. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8. The cost is $50 a person, $200 a team of four. Individuals will be paired together into a team of four. Only 20 teams will be accepted, and pre-registration is highly encouraged. Proceeds from all events will benefit the Wyoming Law Enforcement memorial fund.

Base clinic closures
The 90th Medical Group Medical Treatment Facility will be closed all day for training May 15 and June 19. For assistance during clinic closures, call 773-3461 at any time of the day to be routed to the Nurse Triage line to assist with immediate needs. Airmen on PRP should call 773-3581 during normal duty hours and on training days.

New pharmacy hours
The pharmacy will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. They will not process civilian prescriptions for same day pick-up after 4 p.m. unless it is an emergency medication, but prescriptions may be dropped off to have it ready for pick up the next duty day. The clinic is closed weekends, federal holidays, and wing family days, in addition to the dates listed above. To book medical appointments, call 773-3461.

5K color run
The local Air Force Sergeants Association hosts a 5K color run May 17. A color run is not about speed -- instead, the run focuses on having fun while being splashed with color. The race costs $35 through until May 1 when the price increases to $37. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. AFGSC marathon team
Air Force Global Strike Command is now recruiting for the U.S. Air Force Marathon and Half Marathon Team. The marathon will be Sept. 20 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Team members receive uniform items and reimbursable travel, registration fee and lodging. If selected, team members may apply for permissive temporary duty to participate.
