Mighty Nighty teammates and their families participated in this year's Frontiercade Aug. 28, 2014, outside of the Freedom Hall Fitness Center on F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Frontiercade has been an annual event at F.E. Warren for over 20 years and continues to promote camaradie, fitness and moral.

The 90th Force Support Squadron hosts Frontiercade every summer for Airmen to come together for some friendly competition.

"If you work hard, you've got to play hard," said Staff Sgt. Nicole Nielsen, 90 FSS.
Nielson has not been to another base with anything like it, she said.

"It makes you aware of the people from different squadrons," said Airman 1st Class April Tucay, 90th Medical Operations Squadron and a participant in the volleyball tournament. "It's kind of fun to see everyone let loose."

Sporting events for Frontiercade ranged from volleyball and soccer to Tug-O-War and jousting.

Airman 1st Class Lakeesha Porter, 90th Medical Operations Squadron, participated in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints taking 2nd place in both and plans to attend again. "Maybe I'll be faster next year," she said.

Along with participants, volunteers also roam the grounds of Frontiercade.

Volunteers help keep the Frontiercade cogs turning by working on tasks such as cooking food and providing medical assistance.

"If something happens we need to be here to help," said Airman 1st Class Raschele Ceja, 90 MDOS and event medic. "We have the training necessary to help people who are dehydrated, injured or worse."

While helping with events and providing assistants to participants and observers, volunteers witness the energy F.E. Warren's Airmen display.

"They look like they're having fun," said Tech. Sgt. Churyl Liston, 90th MDOS and event medic. "I see a lot of teamwork."

Frontiercade is a great way to spend the day, said Porter
