Mighty Ninety Airmen gathered in formation May 27 on the Argonne Parade Field to conduct a change of command ceremony here to welcome the 90th Missile Wing's new commander, Col. Stephen M. Kravitsky, a missileer since the early 90's and now on his second tour of duty here.

Kravitsky earned his commission through the Air Force Officers' Training School in 1994. He has served as an ICBM combat crew commander, instructor, evaluator and as a missile maintenance officer. He also served on staff at Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command and the Joint Staff.

"It's great to be back in Cheyenne and as a member of this outstanding unit," Kravitsky said.

Kravitsky described the wing as a cohesive team of highly-skilled and focused warfighters ready to execute the ICBM mission.

Kravitsky thanked his family, saying that without their support he could not serve in the manner he does. Likewise, Airmen's dedication to the mission is strengthened by support from leadership, families and the local community, he said.

"I'm absolutely pumped, excited, thrilled, but mostly completely humbled to be your commander," he said. "I guarantee you the men and women under my charge will get everything I have every day."

Maj. Gen. Jack Weinstein, Task Force 214 and 20th Air Force commander, presided over the ceremony as the ranking officer and spoke about Kravitsky's career thus far and what Kravitsky will bring to the 90th MW.

"As we say goodbye to one great leader, we're fortunate to welcome another," he said. "Col. Steve Kravitsky is a brilliant officer steeped in the ICBM mission. He's absolutely the right Airman at the right time to take the flag this morning."

Weinstein said he is confident Kravitsky will humbly serve both 90th MW Airmen as they execute their vital national mission and their families who support them.
