F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Lt. Col. Emily Ladd relinquished command of the 582nd Operations Support Squadron to Lt. Col. Cas Smith in a change of command ceremony in the helicopter hangar on F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, June 12, 2023.
Smith most recently served as the director of operations for the 37th Helicopter Squadron here on F.E. Warren.
Ladd is continuing her Air Force career at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, where she will instruct leadership development for a year, then study at the Air War College.
A change of command ceremony is a tradition that represents a formal change of authority and responsibility from the outgoing commander to the incoming commander.
