Col. Michael Power, outgoing 90 MXG commander, expressed his belief that the group was being left in good hands while acknowledging the efforts and successes of the unit during his command.

“It has been an amazing honor to serve as the 90 MXG commander over the past two years. We have adopted a mindset of process improvement and shown to higher headquarters and the world why we’re the ‘Mighty Ninety’,” said Power. “The amazing Wrangler maintainers, 500 strong, are the backbone of our strategic nuclear deterrence mission. It is an honor to hand over command of the 90 MXG to Colonel John Schantz as I have known him for over 20 years, and I know he will take the group to new heights with his proven leadership and enthusiasm.”

Power will take on the role of wing commander of the 377th Air Base Wing in Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.
