The Mighty Ninety hosted the Honorable Andrew Hunter, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, and Lt. Gen. Tom Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, during a tour across F.E. Warren Air Force Base, March 8-10, 2023.

The trip emphasized the importance of nuclear modernization through the Sentinel program, windfarm encroachment in the region and the introduction of the MH-139 Grey Wolf.

“It was a pleasure hosting Mr. Hunter and Lt. Gen. Miller at F.E. Warren this past week.” said Col. Robert Ford Jr., 90th Security Forces Group commander. “The team did an excellent job of demonstrating both the challenges and opportunities of the Sentinel program coming to F.E. Warren, while also showing that the wing remains ready to execute its nuclear deterrence mission, 24/7/365.”

Hunter had the opportunity to visit the Operations and Maintenance Groups, meeting with the units’ Airmen. The teams were able to discuss day to day operations and how they’ve worked to solve problems that have popped up in their respective career fields with Hunter and Miller.

Hunter and Miller were also given the chance to see the weapons generation facility currently under construction as well as receiving mission brief from the 37th Helicopter Squadron.

Visits like these from members of the Secretary of the Air Force team, help those in those positions better understand the needs of and the challenges faced by the missile wings as they work to implement Sentinel in replacing the Minuteman III ICBM system.
