Many people may not know Warren is home to a haunted mental hospital; at least it is this year for Halloween. Spooky tales about an old mental ward here as well as other ghostly tales have inspired this year's theme.

Fall Hall Community Center and the Rising 6 Organization are sponsoring this year's haunted house.

"We're going in a different direction this year," said Airman 1st Class Daryl Knee, Rising 6 member and haunted house director. "We wanted something really scary and detailed, and that's what the project looks like so far."

Volunteers have been working since mid-September to prepare the house and more volunteers are needed to finish the house and play as actors during the performance.

"We need volunteers who want to come out, have a good time and be part of a good team," said Airman Knee. "I really can't think of a better way to spend your Halloween. What's cooler than dressing up like a monster and scaring people?"

The house is tailored for an adult audience, however, admission is available for anyone.
On Halloween night, the community center will also have Trick or Treat Off the Street, which will have many activities for all ages.

"We're excited to have the haunted house as part of the Trick or Treat Off the Street," said Staff Sgt. Lisa Haskins, Rising 6 NCO president. "Hopefully it will bring a lot of interested people who are looking to get scared."

The house will be open Oct. 26, 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. and Oct. 31 from 6 to 10 p.m. The admission price is $2 per person.
