Warren kicks off new challenge for donating blood Published Oct. 19, 2007 By Ron White United Blood Services F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo. -- Warren is known for taking on challenges and coming out on top and this new challenge does just that. The challenge does not require exceptional strength, endurance or even superior tactics. All it requires is a sense of caring for those in the community by giving life in the form of blood donations. Our area hospitals use over 1100 units of blood per month which can only be replenished by donors. The Warren challenge awards a yearly trophy to the group with the highest participation rate based on its population. The blood drive held on Oct. 11 at the 24-hour gym went very well with 90th Medical Group leading competition. There were 53 donors that came out to give blood. United blood services collected 68 units of blood. This was the highest single day blood drive total Warren has ever completed. Warren's next blood drive will be Nov. 19 at the Warren Education Center. Those wishing to donate during the next drive are encouraged to sign up with their group's blood drive coordinator, online at http://www.bloodhero.com or call Ron White, United Blood Services coordinator, at 638-9190.
