The Combined Federal Campaign at Warren raised $118,159 this year, and about $55,000 went directly to the local area charities.

This year's campaign focus was not only 100 percent contact, but was geared toward giving back to the local community.

Warren Air Force Base Family Services, Warren AFB Youth Programs, Operation Warmheart, Operation Warren Cares, Operation Provide Joy and American Red Cross of Wyoming/High Plains Branch were several of the local charities supported by the CFC this year.

"I am truly humbled by the generosity of our base," said Col. Mike Morgan, 90th Space Wing commander. "We have fewer people than last year, yet we gave $12,000 more. That is remarkable, and I really appreciate the balance given between local charities and national-level organizations.

"There's going to be a lot of good done at the local level this year," he added.

The monetary goal this year was exceeded by 29 percent, and it was the best campaign to date, said Capt. Jason Richter, 90th Medical Support Squadron.

One hundred percent contact and maximum participation were a few keys to its success.

Many of the groups on base met or exceeded their goals with the 90th Medical Group raising 262 percent and Twentieth Air Force meeting 278 percent of their respective goals.

Captain Richter said the 90th Maintenance Group did very well with fundraising events, generating nearly $2,700 in addition to its individual contributions.

"It was consistent throughout that every group had some sort of fundraising event outside just the standard individual donation," he said.

The wing also held several events this year, raising about $500.

"All the donations that were earned in fundraisers get delivered proportionally to how other donations were made," Captain Richter said.

This mean if 50 percent of the total donations were made to local charities, then 50 percent of the money made during a fundraiser would go to those charities as well.

It was a solid effort by all groups and squadrons that made this year's fundraiser successful, Captain Richter said. "Without the [group and squadron points of contact] there is no way we would have reached our goal."
