Airmen take pride in housing units Published Sept. 11, 2009 By Senior Airman Daryl Knee 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The base housing office recently placed an emphasis on the inspections to the exterior of military family housing units here. As such, residents are reminded to continue outside care to their units as detailed in the family housing 'We Care' pamphlet, an information booklet residents received upon occupancy. "In my travels throughout the housing areas on base, I have taken note of many homes that clearly exhibit the care and pride some residents have taken on their housing units," said Col. Greg Tims, 90th Missile Wing commander, "and my thanks go out to those families." For assistance with exterior upkeep, the Warren Self Help Store, located at Bldg. 330, is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and offers items free of charge: tillers, aerators, power edgers, fertilizer, weed killer and grass seed. Occupants who are within 30 days of moving into or departing a residence can request a lawn mower or trimmer. However, curb appeal is just one aspect of the sense of pride, ownership and overall community that base members should feel as occupants of the housing area, Colonel Tims said. It is one's duty to ensure all Air Force and base standards are consistently maintained within the exterior and interior of military family housing. For more information call 773-1840.
