The Honor Flight Wyoming board of directors has determined the group's next flight will depart from Cheyenne on May 18. The flight, which will carry 110 Wyoming World War II veterans to view the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC, has already been filled. A September flight, departing from Casper, is in the planning stages. This is the third Wyoming Honor Flight.

"It is important to the Honor Flight Wyoming Board of Directors to offer this free trip to ALL World War II Veterans in Wyoming," said board chairman and WWII vet Gus Fleischli. Mr. Fleischli said while the May 18 trip is paid for, funds still need to be raised for future trips.
WWII veteran's and escort's applications can be downloaded from www.honorflightwyoming.org or obtained at local American Legion posts.

Family members are encouraged to visit the web site and read the frequently asked questions. Former Governor and honorary board member Mike Sullivan recently said, "Our Wyoming World War II Veterans earned this trip through their many sacrifices, help us reach out and invite them to apply for the trip." Veterans should apply now so Honor Flight Wyoming can predict the need for future flights. Veterans with limited mobility using wheelchairs or oxygen dependant are encouraged to apply as all flights are accompanied by guardians and medical personnel who assist the Veterans.

Veteran's Service Organizations assist with travel from outlying Wyoming communities to the departure locations of Cheyenne and Casper. If a Veteran wishes to make this trip, Honor Flight Wyoming has worked hard to accommodate most every need.

Former U.S. Senator and Honorary Board Member Alan Simpson has said, "World War II Veterans saved the world from oppressive dictators, these flights offer a once in a lifetime trip to see the memorial built in their honor, sign up now."

For more information about the trips, or to have applications sent directly to family members or Veterans, call the Wyoming Veterans Commission at 307-772-5145.
