Officer candidate scholarship
Staff Sgt. Anne Herrmann of Air Force Global Strike Command's 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron was recently selected as an officer cadet and will complete her bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology at Det 172, Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. She was the recipient of a Stripes for Outstanding Airmen to ROTC scholarship type 2. She will receive $18,000 to be used towards tuition and fees and $900 for books per year. Sergeant Herrmann was born and raised in Lebanon, Mo., entered the Air Force on March 6, 2007, and has been a career security forces member. She was promoted below-the-zone to senior airman Jan. 6, 2009, and was selected to staff sergeant on her first time testing. She has been assigned to the 39th Security Forces Squadron at Incirlik Air Base Turkey, 65th Security Forces Squadron at Lajes Field Azores, Portugal, and is currently assigned to the 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron, F.
