Mighty Ninety Airmen welcome American300

F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. --  F. E. Warren Air Force Base welcomed the American300 Baja 1000 Tour, part of Air Force Global Strike Command's "Never Quit Series," June 10 through 12.

Special guests included Mike Schultz, first ever back-to-back winner of the ESPN winter and summer XGames gold medals; Chris Ridgway, XGames medalist; Jim Wazny, XGames silver Medalist; and Robi Powers, American300 Warrior Tours founder.

The tour focused on resiliency and overcoming any obstacles one may face.

"Basically, no one's going to feel sorry for you, even though you're feeling sorry for yourself," said Wazny. "I went through almost a year of that; life is what you make of it."

The athletes visited with Airmen at a missile alert facility, the Chadwell Dining Facility, 90th Communication Squadron, 90th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 90th Force Support Squadron, 90th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department, 37th Helicopter Squadron and 90th Security Forces Group tactical response force.

"This was probably one of the best demos we've ever done," said Master Sgt. Donnie Gallagher, 90th SFG TRF operations superintendent. "We were getting feedback from the guys (on the tour) and we could tell they were really enjoying it."

Gallagher added there are many parallels between the lives of Schultz, Ridgway and Wazny, and the job TRF performs.

"You could say we're all adrenaline junkies," Gallagher said. "It was great interacting with them, and the stories they shared were truly amazing."

American300 is a charitable and educational organization which sponsors activities aimed at motivating and honoring service members, their families and the communities they live and operate in.
