The 90th Medical Group closed early Oct. 31 to open its doors to the Warren community with a different mission in place.

For the 12th year in a row, the 90th MDG took time-off from their daily mission of providing medical support and treatment to members of the Mighty Ninety, their families and retirees to provide candy - and a few scares - to the children of F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. for Halloween.

More than 150 members of the 90th MDG dressed in costumes to provide treats to roughly 500 children.

Between 10 different areas, children and their parents were able given candy and treats, with over half of those areas having themes, including haunted houses.

Mighty Ninety members enjoy getting the chance to bring their children trick-or-treating in a safe environment.

"This is the second year we brought our kids," said Master Sgt. Joel Harr, 90th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department. "This is a great event for the families at Warren, it's put on by people you know and trust, it's safe for the kids and you don't have to worry about the treats they're handing out."

Turning the clinic into an indoor trick-or-treat area is a long-standing tradition at Warren, and one its workers enjoy putting together.

"I love Halloween," said Master Sgt. Chrystal Tanksley, 90th Medical Operations Squadron. "It's my favorite holiday and I especially enjoy it here.

"It's a great chance to see a different side of your coworkers," she added. "Everyone gets to show off a little bit of their personality, I wish they would do this at every base."
