Warren members and their families living in base housing have some assistance when a deployment takes the service member away from the household here.

The Balfour Beatty Communities Deployed Spouse Program offers assistance around the house to deployed service members and their families at no additional cost to them.

"We want to offer peace of mind to deployed service members and their spouses by offering extended lawn care, snow removal, as well as additional maintenance services such as hanging pictures and curtains and assembling furniture and children's toys," said Kimberly Patterson, Balfour Beatty Communities community manager.

While there are options for the spouses and families of deploying personnel to move with extended family during a deployment, BBC offers the Deployed Spouse Program to give families the option of staying in their on-base house.

"By offering additional assistance and living options, we hope that families choose to stay with us during deployment, not only to stay in the comfort of their own home, but also to benefit from the surrounding community who understand the challenges that families of deployed service members face," Patterson explained.

By making things easier for the family of the deployed member, BBC hopes to also alleviate stress for those serving overseas.

"When deployed service members know their families are getting the support they need back home, our hope is they can focus on their mission and return safely," Patterson said.

To sign up for the Deployed Spouses Program, those living in base housing can fill out an application at the BBC community management office in Bldg 306, at 5605 10th Cavalry Ave. All applications will be approved upon a service member's deployment.

"The comfort and security of our families is important to Balfour Beatty Communities and we are proud to provide assistance to the families of deployed spouses," Patterson said. "It is our small way of saying thank you for the sacrifices military families make, not only for us, but for future generations."
