Airmen and families of the 90th Missile Wing participated in a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Ruck March beginning at 6:30 a.m., September 9, 2022, at Trophy Park on F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

Twenty-one years ago, Americans held their breath as they watched the tragic events of September 11, 2001, unfold. Coordinated terror attacks struck in New York and Washington D.C., with a third flight being derailed by its passengers and ultimately going down in Pennsylvania. The events of that day, however tragic and sorrowful, brought Americans together in pride.

Now we continue to honor all of the lives that were lost that day, the days following and in the 21 years since.

“We ruck, we remember, we rise up and we serve,” said Col. Catherine Barrington, 90th Missile Wing commander. “It is our job, just like the first responders of that day, to run to the problem - we don’t run away. We are the people who take action and it is our honor to honor their memory today.”

The F.E. Warren Fire Department organized the event to give members of the Mighty Ninety the chance to come together and remember 9/11 and honor each first responder, civilian and military member that gave their lives to fight for their country, on and after that day.
