Mighty Ninety recognized with major awards

The Mighty Ninety has been recognized as Air Force Global Strike Command’s winner of the Col. Lee R. Williams Memorial Award for 2021

“The 90th Missile Wing distinguished itself by exceptionally meritorious service from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021.  During this period, the 90th Missile Wing displayed excellence in the execution of the nation’s strategic nuclear mission through operations, maintenance, security, mission support, and medical services.  The “Mighty Ninety” was selected by Air Force Global Strike Command for the first fielding of the Minuteman III replacement, paving the way of future nuclear operations.”

 

Additionally, the 90th Operations Support Squadron has been recognized as Air Force Global Strike Command’s winner of the Col. Lowell F. McAdoo Memorial Award for 2021

“The 90th Operations Support Squadron distinguished itself by exceptionally meritorious service from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021.  During this period, they executed the nation’s strategic nuclear mission through operations support, specifically through cryptographic, emergency war order targeting, weapons and tactics training, meteorological, intelligence, scheduling and aviation resource management sections.  Furthermore, they successfully demonstrated a new $442 million upgrade capability to the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile coding system. The distinctive accomplishments of the 90th Operations Support Squadron reflect great credit upon itself and the United States Air Force.”
