Col. Robert Ford assumed command of the 90th Security Forces Group during a change of command ceremony July 16, 2021 in the Peacekeeper High Bay, on F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

Prior to his current position, Ford was the Provost Marshall, Headquarters, United States Forces, Japan, and Division Chief, Security Forces, Headquarters, Fifth Air Force at Yokota Air Base, Japan.

Col. Damian Schlussel, outgoing 90th Security Forces commander, wished Ford well while expressing excitement for what was to come.

"It is you, the members of the 90th Security Forces Group, that truly are my heroes," said Schlussel. "I couldn't be more excited to pass the flag to Bobby and the entire Ford family. Bobby, we've known of each other for pretty much the better part of our careers and I know for a fact that you are the person that will take this group, these phenomenal Defenders, to the next level."

Schlussel will continue his Air Force career as Chief of Security Forces Division, Air Force Materiel Command Security Forces, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
