F. E. Warren Welcomes Tongue and Quill Templates

F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. --

Nine Tongue and Quill writing templates are now available to download off of the Air Force's e-publishing website.

These templates include frequently used formats such as the Official Memorandum Template and Talking Paper Template.

"If you have a sloppy document, it can look unprofessional," said Joseph Coslett, Chief of Operation for the 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs Office.

These templates may be used to pitch innovative ideas to one's leadership.

"It's one thing to say 'Hey sir, hey ma'am, I have an idea,'" said Coslett. "When you write it down and you take the time to put your facts or research on paper, it allows you to convey your ideas in a very concise manner. These templates will help you do that."

The idea to create templates came from Airmen participating in the 2020 Vice Chief's Challenge to create ideas designed to eliminate menial tasks and save time.

"We asked for our Airmen's help in identifying and eliminating drains on their time that do not directly contribute to warfighting readiness -- and our Airmen delivered," said Gen. Stephen Wilson, Air Force Vice Chief of Staff. "The support for this idea was overwhelming. And for such a simple idea, it was clear that we could start work immediately."

A system update to download the templates to Air Force desktops is being developed.
