This year, the theme of the Rocky Mountain Combined Federal Campaign is “Show Some Love.” Mountain States CFC covers six states, 165,000 Federal employees, and 1,000 Federal reporting units. During the 2016 campaign, CFC raised $5.1million.

There have been several changes to this year’s campaign. There is now a centralized giving portal that individuals can register and make donations. Cash contributions and undesignated pledges will no longer be accepted, which means members will have to designate the charity organization that their contributions are given to. Another new aspect of the 2017 campaign is the opportunity for individuals to pledge volunteer hours in addition to monetary donations to charitable organizations.

The organizations that receive donations through CFC have also assisted many individuals throughout the existence of the campaign. Most of those individuals have personal stories of how they were affected by certain charities.

“We have several Explosive Ordnance Disposal Warriors in our flight who have directly benefited from the work of the EOD Warrior Foundation,” said Capt. Daniel Lamb, 90th Civil Engineering Squadron, explosive ordnance disposal flight commander. “The donated funds go to help pay for wounded technicians' medical expenses, mental health care and scholarships for the children of EOD Warriors killed in action.”

In 2017, fundraising events are no longer authorized. However, there are events scheduled to inform about the event and let people know how they can register to donate online.

“We want to get the word out because the charities you can donate to are all great causes,” said Capt. Winfred Young, 90th Medical Operations Squadron, Bioenvironmental Engineering element chief. “People don’t think that donating time is money, but getting out and helping a charity organization can benefit others immensely.”

The campaign will end on Jan. 12, 2018, so choose a cause and Show Some Love today.  For more information on the CFC, visit the following websites: www.mountainstatescfc.org or https://cfcgiving.opm.gov/welcome.
