F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The Air Force is changing the club membership process because they have listened to members’ complaints about the current credit card system type of membership.
"Our members are important to us, and the credit card membership system was their number one complaint," said Johnathan Boyd, Air Force Services Activity chief of non-appropriated fund food and beverage operations. "We‘ve changed that and much more with this new portal, and we're very excited to roll it out to our current members and offer it to all of our active duty members, reservists, retirees and Department of Defense civilians."
Current club members will receive a letter from JPMorgan Chase & Company stating that the current relationship with the Air Force has been discontinued. The credit card will be automatically reissued to the member with no affiliation or ties to the club membership.
The membership will now be available on a computer or mobile device to allow easier access to the customer. The new digital portal will allow communication through email and text, link to social media and enable the member to choose the type of credit card for payment.
Members without access to computers or smart devices can stop by the Trail's End for assistance. Current member information will automatically load on the club portal. Members just have to log in and update their payment information.
"We will have membership drives during August to help members connect to the new club membership portal and setup their payment option," said Tech. Sgt. Nicole Boynton, Trail’s End Event Center NCO in charge. "One lucky member that connects to the new portal on each day will receive a prize!"
The new portal system also standardizes payment dates for membership dues. Currently, members are charged dues at different intervals throughout the month. The new system charges all members on the 15th of the month eliminating the guesswork.
Although many things are changing with the program, there are still some things that are not changing.
"Dues are remaining the same, club membership is valid at all Air Force clubs and members can cancel their membership at any time," Boyd said. "When our members deploy, their dues will still be waived. They simply talk to their club managers to initiate the pause on their accounts."
Members will be informed of club programs and events through the portal system and application on their mobile device.
"We are excited about the ability to be able to communicate to our members via email and texts," Boynton said. "This is one of the best things added to the new system. We now have the ability to let members know about upcoming scheduled events."
Visit the Trail's End between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursdays or between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Fridays throughout August to establish new membership or connect to the new platform.
