Combined Federal Campaign: Choose Your Cause Published Nov. 8, 2016 By Airman 1st Class Breanna Carter 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The Rocky Mountain Combined Federal Campaign kicked off Nov. 7, at the Trail’s End here. The kickoff consisted of local charities educating donors about what they do and how the donations are used. The theme this year is “Choose Your Cause”, and there was inflatable boxing for those who wanted to fight for their cause. The Combined Federal Campaign is the world’s largest and most successful donating campaign that occurs in the workplace. It helps to raise money for more than 25,000 different charities, and is the sole fundraising campaign during its time period. The goal for F.E. Warren this year is to raise $98,000 from donors across the base. This amount is based on the number of personnel assigned to the base and what was raised in the past. Senior Master Sgt. David Wiggers, F.E. Warren CFC base representative, said its very important to get everyone involved because many of these charities depend on the CFC to operate, and charities can directly affect Airmen. “There are many different charities that benefit Air Force personnel, whether it’s the local animal shelter or post-traumatic stress disorder treatment centers,” Wiggers said. “With over 25,000 charities to choose from, there is something for everyone.” Barbara Barfield, Rocky Mountain CFC representative, said you never know if you may need charity resources one day. “It’s important to pay forward to these organizations, because things pop up in life.” Barfield said. The CFC will continue until Dec. 15, so get started and Choose Your Cause. Donations can be made online, through MyPay or through a unit’s CFC representative.
