The Trail’s End Event Center is scheduled to re-open April 1, offering a venue for events and providing Air Force Club services to members.

A reopening event is scheduled for 3 p.m. that day, with bouncy castles and free food. At 6 p.m., the activities will switch to include activities for an older crowd — bar games, snake pit trivia, a mechanical bull, a boxing/jousting ring and arm wrestling.

The Trail’s End closed September 2015 for remodeling, and contractors replaced carpeting, wallpaper, and the fire suppression system for the building in preparation of the reopening, said Gabriel Laramie, 90th Force Support Squadron Community Services Flight chief.

Going forward, people will be able to use the facility as a venue for events, such as Airman Leadership School graduations, retirements and promotion ceremonies, he said.

The center has a main ballroom and three smaller rooms. Each of them can be reserved individually or together. Laramie gave the example that a large conference can be held in the ballroom while the smaller rooms can be used for break-away discussions.
In addition to hosting events, the Trail’s End will offer Air Force Club services in the Wrangler Lounge, which will offer typical bar fare. The lounge will be consolidated, that is, for both officer and enlisted members.

The club membership will be the same as typical Air Force club memberships, and members changing duty stations to or from here will have their memberships transfer with them.

There are also plans for live entertainment, such as comedians, bands and DJs.

One service that will not be offered is dining services, and people holding events that need catering must choose from a list of approved caterers, which will be provided when making reservations.

Patrons can expect continuing changes to the center. For example, the Roger’s lounge, which used to be the officers’ lounge, is currently vacant, and FSS leadership hopes to fill it with a coffee shop or concessionaire, Laramie said.

Reservations for events can be scheduled now. Anyone needing a place for an event may call 773-3024 or 773-3048.

People who attend the re-opening event and need a ride home afterward can call 773-HOME (4663) to reach Mighty Ninety Safe Ride.
