Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. -- Frontiercade Frontiercade, a friendly base-wide competition with events such as a half marathon, horseshoes and tug-o-war, is scheduled for Aug. 21 on the softball fields near the Freedom Hall Fitness Center. People interested in signing up can contact their organization's fitness representative. Crow Creek Challenge Ninetieth Security Forces Group defender teams will compete in the Crow Creek Challenge Aug. 22 beginning at 6 a.m. near the CATM range. Crow Creek Challenge tests defenders' fitness and security forces knowledge. Spectators are welcome. Movie on Softball Field The First Sergeants Group will host a viewing of "Rise of the Guardians" Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. on the softball field. The event is free, and concessions will be available for purchase. It is recommended people bring a blanket or lawn chairs to for seating. Glee camp From Aug. 19 to 23, children and teens can take part in a "Glee"-inspired performing arts camp where students rehearse musical numbers and perform them in a final showcase at the Youth Center. Times are 9 to 11 a.m. for children and teens ages 5 to 13 and 1 to 3 p.m. for teens ages 14 to 18. Cost is $15 per student and the final showcase is Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. Independence Hall closure The Independence Hall Fitness Center will be closed now through Sept. 9 for repainting. All fitness assessments will take place at the Freedom Hall Fitness Center during this time. Unit fitness program managers have been notified. Anger management class This class is Aug. 13 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Mental Health Clinic. Adults who are struggling to understand and overcome anger can learn coping skills, triggers and risk factors taught in a group format. For more information or to RSVP, call 773-2998. Health appointment availability The Pediatrics and Family Health Clinics have appointments available for well visits. People can speak to their providers or call the 90th Medical Group clinic appointment line at 773-3461 to get any medical services they need, including shots and sports physicals. Children enrolled to off-base providers are eligible. Children under 18 must have a parent present. Substance abuse awareness seminar ADAPT offers a seminar to educate base personnel on the consequences and physical dangers associated with alcohol use. The class will be offered three times a month on an as-needed basis in the Mental Health Clinic training room. Squadrons are encouraged to use the SAAS class as an early intervention for at-risk Airman and for supervisors to learn how alcohol impacts mission readiness. Road Closures - Old Glory Road A section of the center two lanes of Old Glory Road between the 10th Cavalry Avenue intersection and Randall Avenue will be closed for replacement of a section of the concrete roadway now through Aug. 18. - Saber Road East of Wyoming Avenue to West of Nebraska Avenue is scheduled to be closed to remove and replace concrete valley pans at both intersections and to replace sections of the asphalt roadway through Aug. 30.
