Outdoor movie
The First Sergeants Group will host a viewing of "Rise of the Guardians" tonight at 8 p.m. on the softball field near the Freedom Hall Fitness Center. The event is free, and concessions will be available for purchase. It is recommended people bring a blanket or lawn chairs to for seating.

Same-sex spouse benefits

Enlisted medical school prep
Active-duty enlisted Airmen who qualify can now apply for a pilot program designed to prepare them for medical school, but "intent-to-apply" emails must be submitted no later than Sept. 6. Single Airmen mountain biking
Aug. 23 is the registration deadline for Outdoor Recreation's Phantom Canyon Downhill Mountain Bike Adventure. The trip is Aug. 31, and the price of $30 includes guide and equipment rental. For more information or to register, call 773-2988

Transition-GPS
People separating from the Air Force in the next 12 months or retiring within the next two years can attend a five-day workshop that provides active duty, guard and reserve, spouses and Department of Defense civilians with skills and knowledge to successfully transition to a second career and life after the military. Fused glass class

Independence Hall closure
The Independence Hall Fitness Center will be closed now through Sept. 9 for repainting. All fitness assessments will take place in the Freedom Hall Fitness Center during this time. Unit fitness program managers have been notified. Cross-fit will also be taking place at Freedom Hall during this time at their regularly scheduled hours. Health appointment availability
The Pediatrics and Family Health Clinics have appointments available for well visits. People can speak to their providers or call the 90th Medical Group clinic appointment line at 773-3461 to get any medical services they need, including shots and sports physicals. Children enrolled to off-base providers are eligible. Children under 18 must have a parent present.

Sleep clinic
This two-week seminar is offered every other Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. for servicemembers, adult dependents or adult family members who are experiencing sleep issues due to deployment, stress or other unknown causes. People can learn coping skills as well as strategies to overcome the thoughts impacting sleep. To learn start date and to RSVP, call 773-2998.

 
Freedom Hall closure
Freedom Hall Fitness Center will be closed Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Frontiercade.

'How to Avoid Dating a Jerk/Jerkette' class
This is a class geared toward young men and women who are considering getting into a relationship. The goal is to teach people the important things to look for in a mate and how to recognize unhealthy and destructive character patterns. The class is offered Aug. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the F.E. Warren Medical Treatment Facility, Room Q1. For more information or to RSVP, call 773-2998.

Road Closure
- Saber Road East of Wyoming Avenue to West of Nebraska Avenue is scheduled to be closed to remove and replace concrete valley pans at both intersections and to replace sections of the asphalt roadway through Aug. 30.
