WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- CITATION TO ACCOMPANY THE AWARD OF THE AIR FORCE OUTSTANDING UNIT AWARD TO 90TH MISSILE WING (AFGSC) The 90th Missile Wing, Air Force Global Strike Command, distinguished itself by exceptionally meritorious service from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2012. During this period, the wing operated and sustained 150 Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles with unparalleled excellence in support of the Commander, United States Strategic Command's nuclear deterrence mission and earned back-to-back Omaha Trophies in 2011 and 2012. The "Mighty Ninety" was also recognized as Air Force Global Strike Command's best intercontinental ballistic missile wing in 2012, winning the Williams award, as well as the Air Force Association's 2011 General Power Award. The wing took top honors in Global Strike Challenge competition by winning the Blanchard trophy for the second consecutive year in 2011 while the 90th Operations Group swept all four operations awards in 2012 and earned the Klotz Trophy for best intercontinental ballistic missile operations. Furthermore, the 90th Medical Group was selected as the Air Force Surgeon General's best clinic for 2012. Additionally, Air Force Global Strike Command selected the 90th Force Support and 90th Security Forces Squadrons as the best small units in their category for 2012. Finally, the wing dominated the first-ever intercontinental ballistic missile Consolidated Unit Inspection in the command with an overall "Excellent" rating. The distinctive accomplishments of the members of the 90th Missile Wing reflect great credit upon themselves and the United States Air Force.
