WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Civilians return In accordance with a memo Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel released Oct. 5, the Air Force will recall most of the nearly 104,000 Air Force civilian Airmen placed on emergency furlough due to government shutdown. However, a significant number will not yet be able to return. According to DOD guidance for implementation of the Pay our Military Act, in addition to already excepted civilians, civilian Airmen who contribute to the morale, well-being, capabilities, and readiness of service members should also be removed from furlough status. Fire safety message Did you know - Fire alarm detection systems are installed in facilities to notify facility occupants and the fire department. Because of the limitations of these systems, occupants should ALWAYS use the telephone as the primary means of reporting fire emergencies by dialing 911. Trick-or-treat Halloween Trick-or-Treat throughout base housing will be Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The security forces "Pumpkin Patrol" will patrol the area to create a safe atmosphere for the trick-or-treaters. Air Force Anniversary Banquet The 90th Missile Wing and the Air Force Association Cheyenne Cowboy Chapter 357 are hosting a 66th Air Force Anniversary Banquet at the Trail's End Club at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24, 2013. Cost is $25 per person. Dinner consists of a London broil and Chicken combo plate. Uniform for the event is service dress for military and semi-formal for civilians. Event kicks off at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 p.m. Uniform for the event is service dress for military, semi-formal for civilians and retired military, with uniform optional for retirees. Warren Commissary re-opens Oct. 8 resuming normal operating hours: Tuesdays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (7 to 9 a.m. is early bird hours), Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bowling tournament A "Strike out Domestic Violence" bowling tournament will be held Oct. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the F.E. Civilian record access Civilian employees need to create an Office of Personnel Management electronic Official Personnel Folder account in order to access their personnel records. The OPM eOPF application, which replaced the Air Force Civilian Electronic OPF, is a secure electronic personnel folder which contains civilian personnel documents. CFC 5K, pancake breakfast The Combined Federal Campaign kicks-off with a 5K run and pancake breakfast Oct. 11.
