WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Social security benefits for retired veterans Retired veterans who served on active duty between 1957 and 2001 and now collect social security may qualify for a higher social security payment. To receive the benefit, one must bring a Department of Defense form 214 to the Social Security Office and ask for the benefit. The benefit also includes those who began serving prior to 2001 and are still in active duty and plan to receive social security later. For more information, visit www.ssa.gov/retire2/military. Racquetball tournament The Freedom Hall Fitness Center hosts a single elimination, one on one racquetball tournament March 13 at 4:30 p.m. Participants must be at least 16 years old and can be active duty, reserve, guard, a dependant or a Civilian Airmen. Give Parents a Break The next Give Parents a Break event will be held March 15 from noon to 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Child Development Center for ages 6 week thru 5 years old and the Youth Center for children 6 thru 12 years old. Enlisted to officer seminar An enlisted to Officer mini seminar will be held in the First Term Airman Center classroom March 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A prior-enlisted officer will facilitate the seminar and answer questions and provide suggestions to members. Mardi Gras murder mystery · The Fall Hall Community Center hosts a Mardi Gras murder mystery for dependants age 12 to 18 at the teen center March 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. Cost is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. Chili cook off and cupcake war · The Fall Hall Community Center hosts a chili cook off and cupcake war March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. All chili and cupcakes will be due to Fall Hall by 4 p.m. and judging will begin at 4:30 p.m. Judging will be done by a "people's choice" vote. Each participant will receive a participation award, and special prizes will be given for first place in both the cook off and the cupcake war. Pre-registration is required by all participants. Tricare Online Tricare Online is an easier way to get an appointment with a doctor when you need it. To start, visit www.tricareonline.com and click log in or register. Tricare online allows Airmen to create an appointment for anyone in their family; themselves, their spouse and their dependants. Airmen are able to choose their appointment date, time, provider and location for the appointment. EFMP support group events · The Exceptional Family Member Program support group meeting takes place in the Teen Center, Bldg. 234, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring a bag lunch as food and drinks will not be provided. Space Camp scholarship Children enrolled in 6th through 9th grade have the opportunity to receive a scholarship to visit the NASA Space Camp thru the Bernard Curtis Brown II Memorial Space Camp Scholarship. The scholarship was created by the Military Child Education Coalition in memory of a military child who died on Sept. 11, 2001 as a passenger on the airliner that crashed into the Pentagon. The winner of this scholarship gets full tuition to attend the NASA Space Camp. For more information and to apply for the scholarship, visit www.militarychild.org. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 10. Send us your vacation photos The 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs office introduces a new leisure section of the paper. People who spend their off time hiking, camping, boating, sightseeing, traveling to interesting locales, and participating in recreational activities, can submit their photos for future publication in the "Sentinel" newspaper. Submissions must include the name of the photographer, the date of the photo, first and last names of those in the photo, and location. Make sure all photos are high resolution; only high resolution photos will be considered. To submit photos, send an email to 90mw.pa@us.af.mil with the subject titled "Vacation photo submission." Mighty Ninety Safe Ride Program The 90th MW started a new program to provide rides to Airmen who need them. No matter what the reason, the Mighty Ninety Safe Ride Program can provide people with free transportation. Youth baseball registration Baseball registration for children ages 7 thru 12 began Feb. 3 at the Youth Center. The cost is $75 and includes uniforms and most equipment. Practice begins March 31, weather permitting. 90th MDG resiliency classes The 90th Medical Group Mental Health Clinic offers free resiliency classes every month.
