Don't forget to file on time! The Internal Revenue Service deadline for filing is April 15. For assistance, come to the F.E. Warren Tax Assistance Center or file online through www.militaryonesource.mil.

The Tax Assistance Center prepares and submits federal and state returns as a free service to qualified members of the F.E. Warren AFB community. Service members - as well as their dependents, - retirees and civilian employees can schedule a one-hour appointment Mondays through Fridays between 8 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 4 p.m.

"This year, the Tax Assistance Center will save Airmen and their families about $50,000 in professional tax preparation fees," said Capt. Will Jones, 90th Missile Wing judge advocate. "More importantly, Airmen can rest easy knowing their taxes have been done right. Every return is prepared by a volunteer, who has been trained and certified by the IRS, then reviewed by an attorney or one of our most qualified volunteers."

Last year the tax center brought back over $1.25 million to the F.E. Warren AFB community through tax refunds.

"The source of our success is our volunteers," Jones said. "Squadrons across the base support the tax center and contribute the manpower, time and resources to this community effort. Our volunteers are the heart of this program. Their commitment means everything."
