It was bright and warm May 2, which matched the mood of the 90th Civil Engineer Squadron family as 16 of their Airmen returned here from deployment to Southwest Asia.

A sizeable crowd of spouses, children and coworkers gathered outside Building 328 to await the Airmen's arrival. They let out a collective groan as the bus bringing their loved ones back missed the entrance and had to circle around the block, delaying their return.

Hugs, kisses, handshakes and pats on the back abounded as the returning Airmen disembarked
and made their way into the crowd.

"It's wonderful," said Valentina Jones, wife of the returning Tech. Sgt. Waleed Jones, 90th CES Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. "Our family is back together.

After the deployment, which began November 2013, the returning Airmen did not spend much time at Building 328; most quickly departed for the home, since they had been away from it for six months.
