Troops to Teachers
The Education and Training Center will be hosting the quarterly "Troops to Teachers" seminar July 8 from 10 a.m. to noon in Bldg. 841. Participants will be able to meet with advisors and learn about financial assistance, preparations and programs, requirements and career opportunities for becoming a teacher. Operation Back to School
The 24th Annual Operation Back to School drive has begun accepting school supply donations for those less fortunate. A collection bin has been placed outside the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University room, room 21, in the Education and Training Center, Bldg. 841. Outdoor Recreation events
Monthly retiree appreciation potluck
· Outdoor Recreation hosts the monthly retiree appreciation potluck July 9 at the FamCamp at 5 p.m. Join Outdoor Rec. in for a barbeque and some fourth of July themed activities.

Rock the Pool Spectacular
· Outdoor Rec. and the Warren Aquatics Center hosts a "Rock the Pool" Patriotic Spectacular July 12 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Aquatics Center. Join Outdoor Rec.for a variety of summer-style activities, including watermelon carving, swimming races, belly flop contests and more. The event is free for everyone.

Overnight Kayak trip
· Outdoor Rec. hosts an overnight kayak trip July 19 and 20. The trip will depart for Glendo State Park Saturday at 7 a.m. and return Sunday at 5 p.m. The trip costs $30 and includes transportation, equipment and food.

Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Monument trip
· Outdoor Rec. hosts a four-day trip to Yellowstone National Park July 26 through 29. The trip is a single Airmen trip. For $40, Airmen will be provided with transportation, lodging and a few meals during the trip. Come out and hike, bike and explore the national park.

Coffee, pastries and pottery class
The Fall Hall Community Center hosts a coffee, pastries and pottery class July 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. Enjoy a drink and pastry while painting a piece of pottery for $15. Pre-registration is required and children are welcome. For more information, call 773-3510.

CFD/D.A. Russell Days volunteering

90th MDG offers sports physicals
Eligible patients needing a sports physical screening can visit the F.E. Warren Medical Treatment Facility. The 90th Medical Group has many available appointments during regularly scheduled clinic hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To schedule a physical, call the appointment line at 773-3461. Sports physical appointments will be open to TRICARE Prime (enrolled at the clinic or off base), and TRICARE Standard enrollees. Space is limited.

Compensation preferences
The Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission is accepting input on the comment section on their public web site, www.mcrmc.gov. Written comments may also be mailed to the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission, P.O. Box 13170, Arlington, VA. 22209. These tools help ensure they are aware of preferences and concerns.

SGLI monthly premium change
Effective July 1, the Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance program will adjust the SGLI monthly premium rate from 6.5 cents to 7 cents per $1,000 of insurance. This means, for example, a premium increase from $26 to $28 a month for servicemembers with the maximum $400,000 of life insurance. All servicemembers will continue to pay an additional $1 for Traumatic Injury Protection coverage. Please visit www.benefits.va.gov/insurance to view a table of the new rates for all coverage amounts and learn more about the premium change.

Base tours
The 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs Office and Warren ICBM & Heritage Museum hosts monthly tours of the base for the general public. The tours are the last Thursday of each month from May to October. The tours begin at 1 p.m. at the main base gate where a bus/van will meet guests. Pool hours
The Warren Aquatics Center is now open Mondays through Saturdays until Labor Day weekend. The hours of operation will be 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. each day. The center will have specific hours for adult lap swim and open swim:

Adult lap Swim
· Tuesdays through Fridays - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
Open Swim
· Tuesdays through Fridays - 1 to 5 p.m.
· Saturdays - 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Social Engineering

Social Engineering is the art of manipulating people into performing disclosure actions or divulging confidential or personal information.

You may receive an email imitating what appears to be a valid company or even a phone call. Those attempting to get your information will use any deceitful means available. As a Department of Defense member, it is your responsibility to protect your user name, passwords and personal information to the fullest extent--remember, under no circumstance are you to provide this information.

Be cautious opening emails from unknown senders; never open an email attachment from an unknown source. Email attachments are a common source of infecting the network (or your own personal computer) with a virus. If you notice a suspicious email, contact your CSA.
