WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Compensation Preferences The Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission is accepting input on the comment section on their public web site, www.mcrmc.gov. Written comments may also be mailed to the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission, P.O. Box 13170, Arlington, VA. 22209. These tools help ensure they are aware of preferences and concerns. SGLI monthly premium change Effective July 1, the Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance program will adjust the SGLI monthly premium rate from 6.5 cents to 7 cents per $1,000 of insurance. This means, for example, a premium increase from $26 to $28 a month for servicemembers with the maximum $400,000 of life insurance. All servicemembers will continue to pay an additional $1 for Traumatic Injury Protection coverage. Inside Combat Rescue The F.E. Warren Base Theater hosts a special free viewing of the National Geographic special Inside Combat Rescue June 17 and 19. Inside Combat Rescue is about the Men and Women of the combat rescue teams stationed in Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The showing will begin at 6 p.m. each night. There is limited availability, so get to the theater early. Airman's Council meeting An Airman's council meeting is scheduled for June 18 beginning 3:30 p.m. in the second floor of the Fall Hall Community Center. Deployment barbecue A barbecue honoring servicemembers who have been deployed, are deployed or will deploy in 2014 will be held at the Base Lake Pavilion June 18 beginning 5:30 p.m. National Guard Recruiter The new Air National Guard in-service recruiter, will be available June 18 and 19 to answer questions about the Palace Chase and Palace Front programs of the Air National Guard. Airmen can schedule appointments by calling 719-556-8326. Base clinic closures The 90th Medical Group Medical Treatment Facility will be closed all day for training June 19. For assistance during clinic closures, call 773-3461 at any time of the day to be routed to the Nurse Triage line to assist with immediate needs. Airmen on PRP should call 773-3581 during normal duty hours and on training days. Spouse Orientation Tour New Warren Spouses can learn more about F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., and get to know other families at the Military Spouse Orientation Tour June 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. All ranks are welcome and will take a bus tour of the base. LEAD 5/6 meeting A LEAD 5/6 meeting is scheduled for June 20 beginning at noon in the 90th Medical Group Room Q1. Movie in the park The Airman's Council is hosting a Movie in the Park event June 20, beginning 7:30 p.m. on the Argonne Parade Field. They will be showing "Despicable Me 2," at 8:30 p.m. (or whenever it gets dark) and snacks will be available. USO sesame Street Live The USO Sesame Street Live tour will be visiting Warren June 23 and will perform two shows in the Freedom Hall Fitness Center: 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. The shows are first come, first served and no tickets are necessary. Warren for a blood drive June 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. They currently have a critical need for O+, O-, A- and B- blood types. Legal office closure The 90th Missile Wing legal office will be closed June 27 beginning at noon for an official function. For more information, call 773-2256 Rockies Military Day The Colorado Rockies are inviting F.E. Warren Airman to participate in a Military Day event July 6 during a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Tickets are free for active duty and $14 dollars for family and friends. Airmen are also invited to represent Warren in an on-field flag unfurling before the game. Base tours The 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs Office and Warren ICBM & Heritage Museum hosts monthly tours of the base for the general public. The tours are the last Thursday of each month from May to October. The tours begin at 1 p.m. at the main base gate where a bus/van will meet guests. Pool re-opens The Warren Aquatics Center re-opened it's doors Memorial Day weekend and will remain open Mondays through Saturdays until Labor Day weekend. The hours of operation will be 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. each day.
