Retiree Appreciation Day The 90th Medical Group is hosting a Retiree Appreciation Day April 19 at the 90th MDG clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Retiree Appreciation Day event is a way for Warren to thank the military retirees in the community for their service. Informational booths and representatives will be available to provide information on various medical categories. The 90th MDG wishes to extend an invitation to all military retirees in the community to join in the festivities. Month of the Military Child events Dinner on a Stick · Outdoor Recreation hosts a free Dinner on a Stick event April 18 at the Base Lake. Families and friends are invited to join Outdoor Recreation as they cook supper over an open fire. There will be supplies of hotdogs, marshmallows and some new fixings for families. Breakfast with the Bunny The Trail's End Club hosts a Breakfast with the Bunny event April 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 thru 11, and free for below 3 years old if bought before April 15 and $9 for Adults and $6 for children ages 3 thru 11 after April 15. Warren community can help keep families, visitors and pets safe by getting rid of unwanted or unused prescription or over-the-counter drugs this month during the 8th National Prescription Drug Take-back Days. Excess medications can be turned in at the F.E. Warren Medical Treatment Facility during Retiree Appreciation Day April 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Additionally, excess or unused medications can be turned in at the F. E. Warren Commissary April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More drop-off locations for April 26 can be found at www.dea.gov. If these times and locations are inconvenient, medications can be deposited in the Cheyenne Police Department lobby drop-box at any time. Wing Dining Out Auditions Auditions are being held for the upcoming 90th Missile Wing Dining Out. Volunteers are needed to fill the national anthem singer position and the dining out speaking positions. Marketing yourself The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosts a professional development lecture April 30 for officers and senior enlisted who are transitioning or are mentoring a subordinate who is transitioning into civilian life. Warren Air Force Base Chapel is looking for a Protestant Religious Coordinator. The person must possess relevant training and education (ministry related field), have experience working within a volunteer-based Protestant religious education. Contemporary Service Director · F.E. Warren Air Force Base Chapel is looking for a Contemporary Service Director. The person must be willing to audition and be able to skillfully sight read and play music with little or no advanced preparation. Each position requires that applicants be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Provide a resume, references, and have familiarity and experience with military chapel programs. The following classes and dates are offered in April: · Stress Management and Building Resiliency class - April 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. · Anger Management class - April 24 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 5 K color run The local Air Force Sergeants Association hosts a 5K color run May 17. A color run is not about speed -- instead, the run focuses on having fun while being splashed with color. The race costs $35 through until May 1 when the price increases to $37. Full/half marathon team Air Force Global Strike Command is now recruiting for the U.S. Air Force Marathon and Half Marathon Team. The marathon will be Sept. 20 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Team members receive uniform items and reimbursable travel, registration fee and lodging. The trip costs $30 and includes transportation, gear and the trail ride.
