Gate 1 closed for construction
The Gate 1, Randall Avenue entrance to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., is closed for construction. The redesign of the gate is to comply with new Anti-terrorism and Force Protection Standards. The Gate 2, Missile Drive entrance to Warren will remain open throughout the construction process. The intersection at Happy Jack Road running in and out of Gate 2 will be a two-way stop instead of a four-way stop. Vehicles on Happy Jack Road will have right of way. The Visitor Control Center, located outside of Gate 1, will remain open during the project. The projected end date is July 14.

Blues Mondays to resume
Beginning April 7, the first Monday of April, 90th Missile Wing military personnel will wear the blue service uniform the first Monday of each month and wear the appropriate uniform for duty, i.e. ABUs or FDUs, as the normal uniform on all other duty days. The blue service uniform is not prohibited for wear at other times as appropriate. "Blues Mondays" continue through Oct. 31.

Men's varsity softball
F.E. Warren men's varsity softball tryouts began March 31 and will continue through April 5 at the F.E. Warren ball fields near Freedom Hall Fitness Center at 5 p.m. each day. People trying out should bring softball gear and warm clothes.

Religious positions needed
Protestant Religious Education Coordinator
· F. E. Warren Air Force Base Chapel is looking for a Protestant Religious Coordinator. The person must possess relevant training and education (ministry related field), have experience working within a volunteer-based Protestant religious education.

Contemporary Service Director
· F. E. Warren Air Force Base Chapel is looking for a Contemporary Service Director. The person must be willing to audition and be able to skillfully sight read and play music with little or no advanced preparation.

Each position requires that applicants be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Provide a resume, references, and have familiarity and experience with military chapel programs. Home buyers' seminar
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is hosting a home buyers' seminar April 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. Real estate, banking, title insurance and home inspection experts will explain the ins and outs of the home buying process and answer questions on the topic. 5 K color run
The local Air Force Sergeants Association hosts a 5K color run May 17. A color run is not about speed -- instead, the run focuses on having fun while being splashed with color. The race costs $35 through until May 1 when the price increases to $37. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Full/half marathon team
Air Force Global Strike Command is now recruiting for the U.S. Air Force Marathon and Half Marathon Team. The marathon will be Sept. 20 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Team members receive uniform items and reimbursable travel, registration fee and lodging. If selected, team members may apply for permissive temporary duty to participate. 90th MDG resiliency classes
The 90th Medical Group Mental Health Clinic offers free resiliency classes every month. The following classes and dates are offered in April:
· Stress Management and Building Resiliency class - April 9 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and April 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
· Love and Logic Parenting Workshop - 4 week class offered every Monday starting April 7
· Anger Management class - April 8 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and April 24 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
· Healthy Relationship Workshop - 4 week class offered every Thursday beginning April 3

Easter Egg-stravaganza
· The Arts and Crafts Center hosts an Easter Egg-stravaganza event April 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. Come out and paint Easter eggs, participate in Easter themed activities and have a few snacks. For more information, call 773-3166.
Pirate Dinner Party
· Outdoor Recreation hosts a Pirate Dinner Party for all the Pirates and Pirate Princesses April 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 234. Admission is $5 and includes dinner and participation in pirate themed activities - plank walking, pirate speaking, ship building, treasure hunting and more. Dinner on a Stick
· Outdoor Recreation hosts a free Dinner on a Stick event April 18 at the Base lake. Families and friends are invited to join Outdoor Recreation as they cook supper over an open fire. There will be supplies of hotdogs, marshmallows and some new fixings for families. Bring your own stick and enjoy an evening of laughs, memories and family fun. For more information, call 773-2988.

Outdoor Recreation trips
Dog Sledding Trip
· Outdoor Recreation hosts a Dog Sledding trip April 12 in Winter Park, Colo. The trip is a Single Airmen's event, meaning only single Airmen will be allowed to sign up until April 8. Get out and enjoy a scenic trip while seated in a sled pulled by a pack of dogs. The trip will depart Outdoor Recreation at 7 a.m. and return around 7 p.m. Cost is $30 and includes transportation, gear and the sled ride. The trip is limited to the first 12 to sign up.
Horseback ride
· Outdoor Recreation hosts Sombrero Stables Horseback Ride April 26. The trip is a Single Airmen's event, meaning only single Airmen will be allowed to sign up. Enjoy a two-hour trail ride in the Rocky Mountains. The trip costs $30 and includes transportation, gear and the trail ride. The trip will depart Outdoor Recreation at 8 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.

Fall hall Community Center events
Homeschool special
· The Fall Hall Community Center hosts a Homeschool special event April 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children ages 15 and younger can experience rock climbing, the batting cages or laser tag with the other homeschool families for only $5 per person. This program is held every second Tuesday of each month.
Coffee, pastries and pottery
· The Fall Hall Community Center hosts a coffee, pastries and pottery event April 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. Xtreme Beans will be open to sell coffee and pastries. Participants will be given the opportunity to pick out a piece of pottery and get creative with it. Cost is $15 per person and includes the pastries and the pottery. Pre-registration is required.
Month of the Military Child bash
· The Fall hall Community Center hosts a free, Month of the Military Child bash April 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Enjoy face painting, bounce houses, carnival games, and more.

Trail's End Club events
Casino night
· The Trail's End Club hosts a Casino Night event April 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. Enjoy a variety of games including poker and roulette. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members if signed up in advance, or add $5 if paying at the door. Must be 18 years old to enter.
Breakfast with the Bunny
· The Trail's End Club hosts a Breakfast with the Bunny event April 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 thru 11, and free for below 3 years old if bought before April 15 and $9 for Adults and $6 for children ages 3 thru 11 after April 15. For non-members, add $1 to price.
