Each Company Grade Officer at F.E. Warren belongs to the CGO Council. The purpose of the council is to provide CGOs with opportunities for professional development, social networking and to support the base and local communities through volunteer work. The CGOC provides many opportunities to build social and working relationships and enhance cooperation and effectiveness of base operations. The council also works closely with other private organizations on base to support wing activities.

We've had the opportunity to discuss goals as their elected representatives and the council's main priority is to build the unity of base CGOs through fun activities. These include sports events, missile field tours, outdoor recreation and community events.

Having fun isn't just about kicking back and relaxing. In addition to shedding off the stresses of work, it provides people the opportunity to build friendships that span offices, sections, squadrons, groups and organizations.

The intent is to connect CGOs with their peers in different career fields in order to equip them with the contacts needed to get your job done. Many inefficiencies, conflicts and delays at work can be overcome with a simple phone call to the right person.

The goal is to introduce each other to that person in an environment that is not laden with stress and responsibility. These friendships will not only serve one another during people's time stationed here, but will resurface throughout their careers.

The F.E. Warren CGOC has a great tradition of participation and support for base activities. From organizing base events, to providing tours of various work centers on base, the council gives opportunities for CGOs to reach beyond their daily work centers to influence and learn from other members of the base community. These activities give CGOs the opportunity to work with members of all career fields and of all ranks. As people join the CGOC in supporting wing functions, they will set the standard of excellence for the troops and motivate them to expand their sphere of influence.

The CGOC is committed to the continued support of the community. Every year the communities of Cheyenne and Fort Collins offer several services exclusively to military members, and occasionally there's an opportunity to give back through service and support. The CGOC will continue to work together to do their part to show that appreciation.

The F. E. Warren CGOC elected new representatives July 1. The new leadership is as follows:

President: Shaun Brunson
Vice President: Suzanne Bauma
Secretary: Olivia Lawson
Treasurer: Laura Skelton
Community Service: Megan Olson
Public Relations: Lauren Rodgers
Professional Development: Jordan Tabayoyon
Fellowship: Samuel McClellan
Activities Officer: Ashley Sherman
Media Officer: Stephen Choquette

The CGOC meets on the first and third Fridays of each month at 3:30 p.m. at the Trail's End Club to plan upcoming events and socialize. All CGOs are encouraged to come and participate.
